I think the first time I really fell in love with art was all the way back in the sixth grade. My Mom packed my lunch and drove me to the student bus stop in Euclid, Ohio, every Saturday morning for the ride to The Cleveland Museum of Art. What an awesome place with sculptures and paintings larger than life. It was a great environment for learning to draw and paint.
My Catholic school education limited my art education---only one art class available in college prep. So I earned a bachelor’s degree in math and taught for eleven years in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, before moving to Arizona. Missing the school atmosphere, I attended Arizona State University and took a variety of classes in math, computer science and business until my husband said I should pursue my art. And I have been doing that ever since!
I love drawing the human body, Michelangelo being my absolute favorite artist. I am inspired by Philip Pearlstein and Steve Hanks when it comes to watercolor. And as for printmaking, I am amazed at the variety of techniques available and I work with many of them.
My art work includes those things important to me---family, friends, travels, the southwest, and my favorite thing to draw, the human form. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it.
